Monique Baker, MA, BCBA

Monique Baker is the owner of Effective Interventions. Monique has been working in the field of Behavior Analysis for twenty years. She discovered her passion for working with children with autism her first year of college when she became a behavior technician for a young child with autism.  She finished her undergraduate work, earning a B.S. in Early Childhood Special Education from Central Missouri University.  Monique went on to earn her Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism.  She also believes in the importance of early detection and early intervention.  She worked for many years as a developmental therapist serving children with different needs and diagnoses in the birth-3 age group. Monique's belief in high quality, individualized programs led her to create this company in order to bring these services to her local community.

Katherine "Kat" Tinker, MA, BCBA, LPA and Intake Coordinator

Kat completed her undergraduate and graduate training at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in psychology.  She became interested in helping children with autism following a relative’s diagnosis.  After completing an internship at a school for children with autism Kat received her certification as both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst as well as a Licensed Psychological Associate.  Kat has worked with people with developmental disabilities ranging from 2-27 years in a variety of settings.  She is excited to be a part of the Effective Interventions team.

Leigh Ann is originally from Birmingham, AL and received her degrees (B.A. and M.S.) from Auburn University and her BCBA certification in 2004. Leigh Ann has worked in a variety of settings utilizing the principles of applied behavior analysis as well as working as the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Manager for the Vicenza Military Community in Vicenza, Italy. Leigh Ann is actively involved in professional organizations and strives to continue her education and professional growth and she is currently serving as Secretary of the North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis (NCABA).

 Ashley received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in Psychology from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa and her master's degree in ABA from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. Ashley began her career teaching kindergarten in the public school setting. In her first year of teaching, Ashley discovered her passion for working with children with Autism.  Ashley previously worked with children between the ages of 18 months and 19 years in a center-based setting in Ohio. Ashley moved to North Carolina and joined Effective Interventions’ team in February 2016. Ashley believes strongly in early intervention and using a team approach.

Erika Winnie, MS, BCBA

Erika earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Over the course of her academic career, she has worked with children with developmental disabilities in clinic, community, and home settings and has completed an internship using behavior-analytic principles to treat children with pediatric feeding disorders. She has recently completed all of her course requirements and hours and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Erika is very excited to be a part of the Effective Interventions team!

 Laurel graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with her Bachelor's in Recreation Therapy and a minor in Psychology. During college, she discovered her passion for improving independence and overall well-being for all individuals. Laurel was working as a Recreational Therapist when she discovered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and how she could combine her current skills with new ways to bring about a meaningful and positive behavior change. Laurel recently graduated with her M.A in Applied Behavior Analysis and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst!

​Christy  earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology in December, 2015. She has been a RBT ever since. She has worked with children for over ten years and knew at a young age that her passion was working with children and especially children with developmental disabilities; pushing her to pursue a career in a pediatric therapy related field.  Christy plans to further her education and obtain a Master’s degree in the near future. Christy is excited to continue to learn about and implement effective ways to help each child succeed in a way that meets their unique needs and personality.

Emily graduated in 2014 from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Social Welfare. After completing her mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters she knew her calling was to help children and families. From there she continued to work closely within the community for Big Brothers Big Sisters in both Indiana and Wisconsin. She has previously worked with children ages 5-18 in a variety of settings including school, home, and community. Emily is looking forward to completing her Master's degree in Psychology as well as continuing to develop a close relationship with community here in the Sandhills area.

Kaitlyn completed her Bachelors in Education from Concordia Texas in 2015 and taught in the classroom for 3 years.  She first began working with children and adults with special needs in 2010, and quickly discovered her passion for working with individuals with autism.  Kaitlyn hopes to begin working on her masters in the near future and to further her career in special education with a focus on autism. She is excited to be apart of the Effective Interventions team and to help support children so they can excel in all environments and achieve their goals.

LaMesha graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2019 from Fayetteville State University. She took a course this past year and realized that she wanted to pursue her degree in working with kids. Although she is new to ABA, she enjoys helping each individual child learn and excel. LaMesha plans to further her education and obtain her Master’s degree in ABA. She is excited to be a part of the Effective Interventions team and very grateful for the support thus far.

Erica received her bachelor's degree in psychology with a concentration on child and adolescent development. Erica's first experience working with children with ASD was as a volunteer instructor for therapeutic riding. During this time she discovered her passion for working with children with ASD and helping them succeed in achieving their goals. Approaching graduation she learned about the field of ABA and realized this is where she belongs. Erica is excited to be a part of the Effective Interventions team and share their mission to provide quality and effective treatment to help children achieve their greatest potential.

Katie Strathmann joined the Effective Interventions team as the Staff Development Director for their Cary location in 2020. She completed graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh in 2005, followed by post graduate coursework leading to BCBA certification in 2007. In 2017, Katie also became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Since her move to North Carolina, she has worked in several leadership roles for home- and clinic- based ABA companies, including Senior Consultant, Intake Director, and Director of Staff Development. Katie is most passionate about staff development, as she has learned that building strong clinicians exponentially benefits children with autism by increasing the availability and quality of services.

Kristi obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Exercise & Sport Science and Psychology. Following her work as a behavior technician, she went on to earn her Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism from Sage Colleges. In addition to developing and implementing individualized programs for children and adolescents with autism, she also has experience with teacher training and school consultation. Kristi's belief in the dissemination of ABA led her to become an active board member for the North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis. She joined Effective Interventions in September 2017 and believes in working collaboratively with team members and parents to provide effective, individualized treatment.

Kelly Creasman, MS, BCBA

Kelly is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been working with individuals with autism since 2010. She completed her degree in Psychology from East Carolina University and her Master’s at Ball State in Applied Behavior Analysis. Kelly started working in the field of behavior analysis as a direct therapist with children with autism in the home setting, and eventually went on to consult in over 30 schools across North Carolina. During this time, she worked closely with special education teachers, other professionals included in a child’s IEP team, and parents to implement evidence -based practices in the classroom and create meaningful behavior intervention plans. Kelly has a deep commitment to finding creative solutions and making ABA accessible and enjoyable for the families and employees she serves. She is thrilled to be working with the Effective Interventions team!

Breana graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2014 with a B.S. in Psychology and Linguistics and became a Registered Behavior Technician in November 2015. She then completed her Master’s in Professional Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology in 2018. Breana values the individuality of every child and the importance of teamwork with the child’s family and other care providers.  Breana loves to work at Effective Interventions and share their mission of using evidence-based, individualized plans and appropriate personalized motivators to facilitate growth and progress with every child across all environments.

Breanna has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. She has been working with children since she was 13 years old. Breanna has worked as a Reunification counselor as well as a Lead Teacher in a daycare. Breanna has always had a passion to work with children and admired the work her mother did as an aide to children with special needs. She received her Registered Behavior Technician in May 2018 and began working at Effective Interventions. Breanna loves working with children every day and seeing them achieve their goals. She is excited to be a part of the amazing team at Effective Interventions because of the one on one care and individual plans for children!

Jess completed her Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology in 2014 from University of Missouri. Jess has been working with children as an early childhood educator and Child Life Specialist since 2009. Serving children with autism and their families has quickly become something so fulfilling for her.  Jess has been with Effective Interventions since February 2018 and loves the constant support and passion all of her co-workers have for the amazing children and families we serve. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in ABA.

Amanda graduated from Mississippi State University in December of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Amanda first started working in the field of ABA as Behavior Specialist working in different school districts across north Mississippi. This is when she realized her passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism. Amanda is currently a full time Graduate student online at Sage Colleges working towards her Masters of Science degree in ABA and Autism.

Cassandra has a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Florida Atlantic University. She has been working as a Registered Behavior Technician since December 2018. She has worked with children since 2015 as a babysitter and volunteering at a daycare. Cassandra loves working with children and watching them work towards independence. Cassandra started working towards her master's to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in November 2019 and is excited to be able to continue in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and make a difference in the lives of children.

Daceya graduated from Northwest Florida State College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Daceya worked in the daycare field with children with Autism and she soon realized her passion. She received her Registered Behavior Technician certification in 2018 and began working in the ABA field. Daceya then moved from Florida to North Carolina to join the Effective Interventions team to continue her passion for ABA. She is very excited to be apart of the Effective Interventions team because of the passion and love everyone has for all the clients.
